Natasha Ramsay is a proud First Nations woman from outback Cunnamulla and a seasoned senior financial counsellor whose professional journey has been defined by a commitment to unique and challenging cases, particularly within the realms of prison work and family violence.

Hailing from the vast expanse of outback Queensland, Tash’s passion for financial counselling was ignited during her time volunteering for the Australian Taxation Office’s TaxHelp program, where she had the opportunity to collaborate closely with a financial counsellor. Over the span of 20 years, Tash’s career has taken her across multiple states, including Western Australia, Victoria, the Northern Territory, and back to her roots in Queensland. Driven by a fascination with complex cases and a love of research, Tash has carved out a niche for herself in the field of financial counselling, with a particular focus on the intricate challenges presented by prison work. Through her unwavering dedication and tireless efforts, she has not only shed light on the often-overlooked issues within the prison system but also advocated tirelessly for much-needed change.   With a mindset of continual growth, Tash is now busily completing a social work degree.

Beyond her professional endeavours, Tash’s commitment to her family shines through. As a kinship carer for her teenage niece and nephew, and a loving grandmother to two adorable babies, aged 2 ½ years and 18 months, she finds fulfillment in both her personal and professional roles, demonstrating her unwavering dedication to those she cares for.
